Malaysia Study Tour
DATE: May 1 – 6, 2017
VENUE: Malaysia
In order to develop global leaders with internationally valued knowledges, experiences and ability to take action, Asia Training of 2017 was held in Malaysia, located in the middle of Southeast Asia. Six Dojo students and three staff visited National University of Malaysia (UKM), Tenaga National University (UNITEN), Malaysia Nuclear Agency (MNA) and Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB).
At UKM, the students of both universities developed intercommunion in order to increase abilities of English, discussion and communication. Followed by self-introduction of each university and members, poster presentation on each research work was conducted by each six members. The group discussion was then conducted with three groups on the issues of “risk communication”, “energy security” and “capacity building to promote nuclear energy”. At the same time the Dojo student visited research facilities and understood the research activity at UKM.

The Dojo students have actively learned a lot by raising many questions and opinions through the intercommunion with two universities and visit to nuclear related organizations. It was impressive that there were many women involved in Universities and nuclear related organizations. It is considered beneficial for the students to feel something familiar and close to Malaysia, which is a multiethnic nation unlike Japan.
