I am from Fukushima Prefecture and would like to contribute to restoration from 1F accident in the future. Therefore I need to obtain various knowledge (academic, consensus building, etc.) and experience abroad for restoring. In this academy, I am learning economics, politics and social communication in English. I am also able to go abroad for expanding my international perspective and improving English skill. I will continue to make great efforts with self-study for Fukushima people. |

I am a masteral student at the Matsumoto Laboratory, currently studying the mechanism of DNA double strand repair. I am a chemist and a graduate of B.Sc. Biochemistry at the University of the Philippines. Before coming to Japan, I was a researcher at the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute. By being part of U-Atom, I envision myself to be more versatile in the nuclear field, also knowledgeable in Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards, and able to develop myself as a global nuclear leader. |

I am South African and studied chemical engineering at the University of Cape Town and during my studies I became interested in nuclear engineering. I wanted to pursue my Masters in Japan since it is renowned for its technological innovations and vast knowledge base on nuclear technologies. My specific research interest lies in nuclear waste management using microfluidics. However, I wanted to know more about nuclear safety and decided to enroll in U-ATOM. By expanding my knowledge in various areas such as nuclear science, politics and humanities; I hope to use U-ATOM as a platform for developing leadership, communication, relational and organizational skills for use in my future career. |
