Science Cafe

Participants: 30 (4 Japanese, 26 Foreign students) 
Science Café was held at Tokyo  International Exchange Center in Odaiba district for foreign resident students  as intended audience.
The topics this time is “Nuclear Power in  Space”. The objectives of the Café are to obtain better understanding on  radiation by actually conducting visualization experiment by the participants, as  well as by hearing the classroom lecture, and to get more experience on risk  communication for the U-ATOM students.
First Assistant Professor Jun Nishimura of  Tokyo Institute of Technology gave lecture on the radiation, and each  participant then actually conducted experiment to observe the radiation by  using simple cloud chamber kit which is able to visualize the radiation coming  from the universe.
In a friendly atmosphere, having tea and cocky,  totally different from a formal lecture or seminar, they have learnt the  knowledge on radiation and nuclear power.
