Briefing session on COE-INES Research Assistant (RA) for FY2007 is held as follows.
The RA system is provided to support research related on the COE-INES activities, and to contribute researches and educational activities that are promoted by the COE-INES members.

COE-INES Research Assistant (RA) Application for FY2007 
Term: Fiscal Year 2007
Qualification:
Doctor Course students in Department of Nuclear Engineering/Department of Energy Sciences, with study related to COE-INES’s research subject, “Energy and Sustainable Development.” For more information on COE-INES’s research activities, please visit:

Main task :
Since RA will be part of the thorough examination upon evaluation of cost performance of COE activities, we ask all RAs to assure the following:
(1) Presentation in international/domestic symposium hosted or co-hosted by COE-INES.
You are to make oral or poster presentation in the symposium to be held in Kamakura, Thailand or Indonesia.
(2) Completion of the COE-INES Captainship Education Program.
(At least three courses. Engineering Ethics/Social Responsibility is an obligatory subject)
(3) Participation to research activity on relationship between nuclear and social public.
(Local Civic Forum, Fieldwork at O-arai town)
(4) Participation and working as executive staff for COE-INES events such as COE-INES Workshops and Seminars, RA Study group, etc.
(5) Presentation of the RA interim results. All RAs have to make a presentation of their results based on the above topic. (to be scheduled between September and October, 2007)
(6) Presentation of the RA achievement results. All RAs have to make a presentation of their results based on the above topic. (to be scheduled on March 2008)
(8) Submission of a “COE-INES RA FY 2007 Achievement Report” by the end of the fiscal year. (Deadline March 21, 2008)
Work Hours: Up to 30 hours/week. Depends on the actual employed number of RAs.
Reward: Please note that we introduce a new system from FY 2007 and it is different from the previous years. Previous RA results are also considered to FY 2007 selection. COE-INES will determine the amount of the reward fees through examination.
Note: Students receiving other scholarship/fellowship programs are not to apply.
Ex.) CANNOT be applied: JSPS Special Researcher, Foreign Student Government Scholarship.
CAN be applied: Domestic Scholarship Programs.

COE-INES Researcher
Research field: COE-INES research on the following fields.
(a) innovative nuclear reactor: analysis and research on a CANDLE burnup, small-sized long-life fast reactor, fast reactor for transmutation.
(b) nuclide transmutation: analysis and research on nuclide transmutation based on fission, fusion and accelerator driven systems.
Qualification:
required Ph.D. degree of nuclear engineering and less than 36 years old.
Work Hours :
40 hours/week.
Task Term: April 1, 2006 - March 31, 2007.
