The 4th COE-INES International Symposium on Innovative Nuclear Energy Systems, INES-4, aims at discussing the latest research activities relevant to the development of innovative nuclear science and technology within a broad perspective. The goal is to develop flexible approaches to establishing of energy security in the wake of the Fukushima accident.

The symposium is organized by the Center for Research into Innovative Nuclear Reactors, CRINES, which was established after successfully completion of the COE-INES program, and RLNR, Tokyo Tech.

The symposium is held in succession to INES-1 at Shinjuku, Tokyo in 2004, INES-2 at Yokohama in 2006, and INES-3 at Tokyo Tech in 2010.
